I was 21 when the thought of a Round-the-world (RTW) trip started to become a serious thought in my mind. I asked Rachel, my girlfriend (and now fiancé) if she had any interest in it. Just like most would respond, of course she would like to take some time to travel. We made a decision to look deeper into it by doing some research at a local bookstore. We spent two or three hours looking at budget travel guides one afternoon, deciding on how much it would cost, discussing things we would be interested in doing and a time frame for how long we wanted to do this. Once we decided it was something that we wanted to do, we had several questions to answer. How do we prepare? How much time do we need to prepare and save up money? We were just finishing college so we didn’t have many responsibilities holding us back, but we had absolutely no savings. We searched all over the place to find answers to the hundreds of questions that we had along the way and ten months later we were on a flight to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico to begin our travels. The two of us spent almost an entire year traveling to twenty eight (28) countries, making memories that most people will never understand, learning valuable (and sometimes hard) lessons and living the dream that most people think is impossible. We had a plan when we left, but still a lot of questions that we needed to be answered. During our trip, we constantly found ourselves saying, “Hindsight is 20/20,” or even more often, "Hindsight is a b!tc#." We created this website for a few reasons: To serve as motivation for you to take your dreams to the next level, to show you that it is possible, and to provide you with that 20/20 vision while you prepare and while you travel.
